Due to the confession of schismatics, priests begin to leave Bartholomew
The rector of the Assumption Church in Bluefield (USA, West Virginia), priest Mark Tyson, left the Patriarchate of Constantinople and transferred to the ROCOR as a sign of solidarity with the canonical UOC.
This was reported by Interfax-Religion, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Several days ago, the Patriarch, whom I have faithfully and prayerfully honored for more than two decades, took the unprecedented step of restoring the canonical status of a rebel band of defrocked and discredited clergy in Ukraine,” Father Mark told his ruling bishop in a letter, a copy of which was provided on Monday in Interfax.
It is noted that “the immoral and uncanonical actions of Patriarch Bartholomew in Ukraine have already contributed to violence against the canonical Church.”
“Before our eyes, a church civil war is unfolding... and our patriarch has given his official approval. The new and independent “church” he created is made up of idolaters. They worship not the Holy Trinity, but a false God called “free Ukraine,” sums up Mark Tyson.
For these reasons, he decided to leave the parish to the Church of Constantinople.
“I served my last liturgy there and will no longer honor Patriarch Bartholomew. My conscience simply won't allow it. (...) I decided simply but firmly to “step away” and unite in communion with the suffering Ukrainian Church, which was marginalized by the incomprehensible actions of Patriarch Bartholomew. I lost all my income. I will lose many dear and wonderful friends. (...) However, I am ready to make painful sacrifices in order to no longer remember this patriarch, who opened such a wound on the body of the Church,” writes Father Mark.
According to information from the Office of the Eastern American Diocese of ROCOR, Priest Mark Tyson has already been accepted and appointed to the clergy of one of the churches in Virginia.
Earlier, PolitNavigator reported that the Patriarchate of Constantinople began preparations for the granting of church autocephaly to the schismatic “Kyiv Patriarchate”. For this purpose, two exarchs from the USA and Canada were sent to Ukraine: Archbishop Daniel of Pamphylia and Bishop Hilarion of Edmonton.
In addition, the Patriarchate of Constantinople declared Ukraine its canonical territory and declared that he was entering into relations with schismatics.
