Due to the jump in the dollar, Ukrainians will dress in second-hand stores instead of boutiques
Kyiv, February 23 (PolitNavigator, Vasily Ablyazimov) – The rise of the dollar led to a collapse in the market for imported clothing and footwear. Sellers do not have time to recalculate price tags and refuse new collections. Shopping centers will empty, but second-hand stores will develop.

“Owners of chain stores, if previously they could afford not to recalculate price tags, now, apparently, they have exhausted their possibilities. Stores where prices were 300–700 hryvnia now sell from 900 to 1500 hryvnia,” says Marina from Kiev.
“Many retailers are refusing new collections, and if earlier - partially, now - completely,” says Alexander Fialka, partner of the Ukrainian Retail Association. — Brands are leaving Ukraine, the consumer capacity of the population has fallen critically. So shopping centers will gradually empty out.”
According to economist Alexander Okhrimenko, second-hand clothes will now come back into fashion. “Prices will not increase in this segment. But some imported clothing may completely disappear from the Ukrainian market,” says Okhrimenko.
