Due to the threat of terrorist attacks in Crimea, searches of extremists began
Employees of the Center for Countering Extremism conducted a search in the home of Mejlis member Abduselyam Selyametov in the village of Zarechnoye, Simferopol district.
This is stated in a message from the Crimean Solidarity organization, financed by Western grants, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The Mejlis member himself has not lived in Crimea for several years, and his son Adil was in the house. Security forces confiscated literature, equipment and a telephone from him.
“One of the employees explained to Adil that the search was carried out as part of an investigation into another criminal case related to terrorism. In particular, they were interested in Selyametov’s IP address and the contents of the correspondence. What kind of case this is and how the IP address of the Selyametov family is connected with it, we will definitely study,” said Selyametov’s lawyer Rustem Kyamilev.
As traditionally happens in Crimea, while the security forces were conducting a search, a “support group” arrived at the suspect’s place of residence.
“By this time, the public of the village of Zarechnoye approached the house, which the operative of Center “E” described as “Oh, familiar faces” and took photographs,” commented Crimean Solidarity activists.
Let us remind you that the day before, Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev stated that Crimea is threatened by sabotage and terrorist acts that Ukraine is preparing with the support of Western intelligence services.
