The real reason for the rotation of the 128th separate mountain infantry brigade to the 24th separate mechanized brigade in the ATO zone was the leak of secret information about the upcoming offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Gorlovka direction.

Deputy Commander of the DPR Operational Command Eduard Basurin stated this at a briefing today, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We said earlier that there was a planned rotation of the “heroic” 128th separate mountain infantry brigade under the command of the war criminal Sobko to the 24th separate mechanized brigade.
The real reason for this rotation was the leak of secret information from the brigade headquarters about the upcoming offensive in the Gorlovka direction in February-March 2018. Some of the brigade's personnel openly refused to carry out orders from the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The General Staff of Ukraine was forced to urgently replace the brigade,” said Eduard Basurin.
He also added that at the brigade’s permanent deployment point in Mukachevo, investigative measures are underway to identify the officer who leaked information with the involvement of the SBU military counterintelligence, and Sobko has been temporarily suspended from his duties as brigade commander until the end of the investigation.
