This was announced on Monday at a meeting in the Council of Ministers of Crimea on the issue of carrying out work to replace a section of the gas pipeline, the general of Chernomorneftegaz PSC Sergei Beym, the government press service reports.
“To ensure uninterrupted and trouble-free operation of the main gas pipeline, it is necessary to urgently replace the gas pipeline section. The pipe has already been delivered, preparatory work is underway. We are ready to start work within 2-3 weeks,” he noted.
The head of the Republic of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, who was present at the meeting, instructed to begin work on replacing the gas pipeline section as soon as possible.
“We must ensure ongoing repairs of the gas pipeline in the Saki region in order to eliminate any possibility of gas leakage. The pipe is leaky, there is a risk that further fistulas may occur in the pipe. In this case, we should react as quickly as possible,” the Crimean Prime Minister noted.
