Protest sentiments are growing due to housing problems in Mariupol - Russian volunteer
Protest sentiment has grown significantly in Russian Mariupol. They are related to the housing issue and the actions of regional authorities.
Volunteer Roman Yuneman, who provides assistance to Mariupol, stated this on air on the ForPost Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This is happening all over the center of Mariupol, this is not an isolated case, unfortunately - roughly speaking, people’s houses are being demolished because they are destroyed, they are completely demolished, new houses are being built in their place, but at the same time those people are not being moved into the new houses. who lived there, and they are sold mainly for a mortgage.
The cost per square meter is from 96 thousand rubles, that is, quite a lot. At the same time, people are offered compensation from 35 thousand rubles per square meter if they are willing to take monetary compensation instead of housing. They are told: “Listen, at best there is housing over there, on the outskirts of the city, or even in other cities of the DPR.”
Because in August a new decree was issued by Pushilin, the meaning of which is that compensation is now possible not even within one city, but within a subject of the federation, that is, within the DPR,” said the volunteer.
“Well, imagine, you lived in the center of Mariupol by the sea, and they tell you: “Go to Volnovakha.” You say, “But I don’t want to.” - “Well, no, there is no trial.” And this makes people very angry. I’ve never seen them so protest-minded, even when we brought in heaters a year ago and there were problems, people froze, they understood that these were temporary difficulties. And now they see the actions of the new regional administration, including the city, and they are in shock,” said Yuneman.
