“The attention of the commission was drawn to comments made in the “Right to Know” program on June 10 by Russian State Duma deputy Vladimir Zhirinovsky, which, as the commission found, incited war and incited hatred and intolerance between peoples. In the program, V. Zhirinovsky spoke about the occupation of Ukraine, Transnistria, separated from Moldova,” writes Delfi.
The TVC management did not admit any violations.
Lithuania began to restrict broadcasts of Russian channels in 2014 after the coup in Ukraine, which was actively supported by Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite.
TVC rebroadcasts had already stopped for a month this year, when in April LKRTV seemed to be “slandering” the channel about the speeches of Lithuanian separatists in 1991.
