“Mocked Ukrainian hostages”: Charges brought against ex-deputy Zhuravko
A campaign against ex-Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexey Zhuravko is unfolding in the Ukrainian segment of social networks.
Nationalists are distributing messages with personal information about Zhuravko and accusations of “financing terrorism,” involvement in the “annexation of Crimea,” as well as “abuse of Ukrainian hostages.”
The campaign against Zhuravko began after his recent critical speeches, when the ex-deputy drew attention to the fact that the Ukrainian media, fanning the scandal surrounding the detention in Crimea of the main local Filaret member Pavel Kushch (“Archbishop Clement”), forget to indicate that he is the holder of a Russian passport, then has, in fact, recognized the Russian status of the peninsula.
PolitNavigator asked Zhuravko how he, being disabled, “mocked the Ukrainian hostages.”
“I don’t know what kind of hostages we are talking about. I did not mock any hostages. Actually, this is all the nonsense of crazy people and the inventions of inadequate people,” the politician said.
