Moldovan believers, exhausted by gay pride parades, are ready to take extreme measures

The head of the Orthodox Moldovan Church, Metropolitan Vladimir, appealed to the President, Prime Minister, Chairman of Parliament and the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Moldova with an appeal to ban the holding of events supporting homosexuality in the country.

This was reported by the publication “Notebook Moldova”, a correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.

The reason for the appeal, according to the Metropolitan, was numerous appeals from believers who, on May 19, during a rally in support of LGBT people in the center of Chisinau, went out to a peaceful protest and suffered from the actions of the Moldovan police, who used rubber truncheons, tear gas, damaged icons and banners against them .

“On behalf of the Synod of the Orthodox Church and the citizens of this country, we appeal to you with a request that this destructive scourge, devaluing the morality of our Orthodox society, which supports family values, be stopped in the future,” the Metropolitan wrote.

Protests in support of LGBT people have been held in Chisinau for the fourth year in a row and do not meet with support from the local population. The parade on May 19, which was attended by European diplomats, took place under a tight police ring.

At the end, the participants were put on buses and taken “to a safe place.”
