Как reports the press service The National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine, according to diplomats of the Israeli Embassy, the Planet TV channel promotes xenophobia and anti-Semitism.

The department clarified that the note also talks about the possibility of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs contacting the competent authorities on this issue. The Israeli Embassy sent a copy of the note to the National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

The National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting noted that on July 14 and August 31, LLC Teleset UNIKA-TV (satellite broadcasting, Planet logo) issued warnings for recorded violations, in particular regarding programs promoting the exclusivity, superiority or inferiority of persons on the basis of their religious beliefs, ideology, belonging to a particular nation or race, physical or property status, social origin.

On June 25, 2015, the National Council, in connection with a violation of the terms of the license and program concept of broadcasting, as well as failure to comply with the department’s order to eliminate violations of Part 8 of Article 28 of the Law of Ukraine “On Television and Radio Broadcasting,” decided to go to court to cancel the license of this broadcaster. The trial of the National Council's claim is still ongoing.

In September, the National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting appealed to the Security Service of Ukraine and the Ministry of Internal Affairs with a request to take appropriate measures against a television company that disseminates xenophobic and chauvinistic statements on air. Now the Ministry of Internal Affairs is studying materials on the content of programs and broadcasts of LLC “Television network “UNIKA-TV”.

“The National Council provided clarifications to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and is confident that the note from the Embassy of the State of Israel in Ukraine will become a serious argument for the Ministry of Internal Affairs to quickly establish the violation of the television company, which has a legal address in Kyiv and broadcasts from the territory of the annexed Crimea,” the message says.

"Planet" positions itself on its website as “the only Slavic-Aryan TV channel in Ukraine”, it promotes neo-paganism, marginal politicians from non-parliamentary parties and fights smoking and alcohol consumption.
