Israel avoids recognizing Russian Sputnik V vaccine
Unsuccessful negotiations on mutual recognition of anti-Covid vaccines took place between Rospotrebnadzor and the Israeli Ministry of Health.
The Israeli Ambassador to the Russian Federation, Alexander Ben Zvi, stated this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, in an interview with Izvestia.
The publication noted that the Jewish state has still not recognized the Russian Sputnik V, and asked whether negotiations are underway between our countries on the mutual recognition of vaccination certificates.
“Yes, negotiations are ongoing. Some negotiations between Rospotrebnadzor and our Ministry of Health have already taken place. In the next week, on these days, another such round will take place. Well, they compare them with each other, these are technical data. At one time, we even submitted our ideas in writing to the Russian Ministry of Health,” the Israeli ambassador answered, avoiding specifics.
He was asked a more specific question: is it possible to hope that these negotiations will be completed successfully before the end of this year?
"I hope that yes. Firstly, well, let's hope that the pandemic also calms down a little. Unfortunately, not everyone, neither here nor in Russia, is vaccinated. So, recognizing certificates is one thing, but in order to completely open [the borders], we will also need to think about how to do this technically,” Ben Zvi answered vaguely again.
