Israeli instructor: The Ukrainian Armed Forces were not ready for the offensive
The Ukrainian army is not ready for an offensive, but is only capable of maneuverable defense.
Israeli military expert Grigory Tamar, who instructed the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stated this on the Iton Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Tamar, this is due to the fact that the Ukrainian military did not learn how to conduct offensive actions.
“The Ukrainian military did not undertake large-scale counter-offensive actions, of a large-scale nature. And now, for the first time during the hostilities, attempts are being made to more or less organized counter-offensive actions. And what do we see? That the Ukrainian military is doing much worse than defense.
At the same time, they conducted the defense very competently, and often these were complex types of defense, for example, mobile defense. This is not when a soldier sits in a trench and shoots at the enemy, but when a unit moves all the time, changes its location, carries out counterattacks all the time, and so on. A rather complex tactical type of combat.
And, apparently, the Ukrainian army was preparing for this, but probably less for an offensive as such. Of course, the characteristic features of material and technical equipment also have an impact - the lack of armored units, the lack of firepower that the Ukrainian army feels,” Tamar said.
