Israeli professor: Artificial intelligence will deprive Ukraine of independence
Ukraine may lose its independence, while still possessing the formal characteristics of an independent state.
This opinion was expressed in an interview with the Kyiv magazine “New Time” by Yuval Noax Harari, a professor at the Faculty of History at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the author of the international bestseller “Sapiens: A Brief History of Humanity.”
He noted that today some countries have advanced further than others in the development of weapons controlled by artificial intelligence.
“This inequality leads to a new type of imperialism and colonialism. Even if the country is theoretically independent. Imagine a situation where Ukraine is theoretically independent, but the Americans, or the Russians, or the Chinese have all the personal information about every politician, every journalist, every military or security official within the country. And this is a very real situation that we can come to,” the expert said.
He emphasizes that in this case it no longer matters whether the country has elections or a government.
“It doesn’t matter where this data is - in Moscow, in Beijing or Washington - Ukraine is already losing its independence as such. Therefore, in order to protect your independence, not only the freedom of the individual, but also the country, in the 21st century you must protect your personal data,” Harari concluded.
As PolitNavigator reported, even radical Ukrainian nationalists admit that today Ukraine turned into a colony.
In addition, the first president of Ukraine Leonid Kravchuk stated that independence turned Ukrainians into slaves and lackeys.
