On Israeli TV they saw in the glorification of the OUN-UPA a “shortage of heroes” in Ukraine
The glorification of OUN-UPA leaders in Ukraine suggests that there are no national heroes in the country.

This was stated on the air of the Israeli channel ITON.TV by a historian, researcher at the Institute. Ben Gurion Yuri Radchenko.
According to him, at the same time, glorifying such people is counterproductive.
“Against the background of the glorification of people like Stepan Bandera, Roman Shukhevych, Yaroslav Stetsko, this is unproductive. Of course, not all OUN members participated in the Holocaust, but this organization has always been anti-Semitic. During the war and almost until the end of this period, with various nuances, anti-Semitic slogans were thrown out of the OUN program, but, nevertheless, the UPA continued to kill Jews. The problem here, it seems to me, is the shortage of heroes, the shortage of people whose portraits could be hung on the wall and said that these are our national heroes,” Radchenko said.
