Too many ordinary people watched their Jewish neighbors being taken away and pretended they didn’t see.”
“Singer also paid tribute to those Ukrainians who joined the Red Army in the fight against the Nazis, and to those who saved their Jewish neighbors from certain death,” the publication notes.
“Petro Poroshenko in his speech drew attention to the fact that Nazism has no nationality, and to the fact that among the executioners there were those who were actually ashamed. And the Ukrainian people, in their collective memory, must remember both these executioners and their victims,” the publication concluded.
