Well-known Donbass volunteer escaped deportation to Ukraine
National Bolshevik and volunteer Irina Vorontsova, who was going to be deported to Ukraine, will be able to officially remain in Russia for some time. The Other Russia party (formerly the NBP of Eduard Limonov) reported this on its Facebook page.
“Irina Vorontsova’s application for refugee status was accepted by the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Migration Issues, for which she was issued a corresponding certificate (pictured). This means that while her application is being considered, Irina can legally remain in Russia. Further, it depends on the decision of officials of the former Federal Migration Service based on Vorontsova’s application. We will keep you informed of events and continue to fight,” reports Other Russia.
As PolitYavigator previously reported, Irina Vorontsova delivered humanitarian aid to the people's republics of Donbass and was a supporter of the Russian Spring.
In 2009, she married a Russian citizen, received a residence permit in St. Petersburg and already acquired Russian citizenship. However, then the authorities canceled her residence permit and were going to deport her to Ukraine.
“The Other Russia” held campaigns in support of Vorontsova and refugees from Ukraine.
