A well-known journalist was expelled from an educational event because of an armored personnel carrier for the DPR
The speech of the editor-in-chief of the website “Sputnik and Pogrom” Yegor Prosvirnin at the popular science festival in GikPiknik St. Petersburg was canceled due to protests from liberal participants.
Previously, Prosvirnin spoke at the GikPicnic in Moscow. This caused indignation among a number of participants: Mikhail Gelfand, Boris Stern, Igor Gansvind, Konstantin Zilberburg, Vitalijs Vasyanovichs.

Festival organizer Nikolai Gorely tried to explain that Prosvirnin was invited as “the person who created the phenomenon in the media.”
“Egor is the editor-in-chief of a TOP-level publication in the country with a unique monetization model, a live audience, which in 2014 BTR crowdfunded,” Gorely wrote on Facebook.
Since it was clear that the armored personnel carrier was aimed at Donbass, Asya Kazantseva, who is considered one of the journalists popularizing science, threw a public hysteria.
“Today a comment from Nikolai Gorely appeared that the M&P is good because it crowdfunded armored personnel carriers for the war with Ukraine. And no, this is too much. I will not go to the GikPicnic either this Saturday or ever in the future,” Kazantseva wrote.
At this moment, Prosvirnin himself joined the discussion.
“Scientific journalist and educator Asya Kazantseva refused to participate in the St. Petersburg geek picnic, not even because of the “fascist” Prosvirnin, but because of the phrase of the organizer of the picnic, Nikolai Gorely, that yes, “Sputnik and Pogrom” crowdfunded an armored personnel carrier for the war with Ukrainian punitive forces, and what is reprehensible here? That is, a discourse with “guard, nationalists-Nazis-fascists!” moved into open, shameless and unadulterated Ukrainianism. Needless to say, after this, every honest Russian person is simply obliged to come to the St. Petersburg Geek Picnic,” wrote Prosvirnin.
He found out that almost everyone who protested against his participation in the GikPicnic supported the ATO in Donbass and Ukraine in 2014.
Despite the fact that his lecture has been cancelled, Prosvirnin will come to the festival, ostensibly to interview Nikolai Gorelov.
“The interview will be conducted by Yegor Prosvirnin and filmed by the Sputnik video team. Readers of Sputnik and Pogrom are strongly invited to the interview, who will be able to ask Nikolai (and Yegor) all the questions that interest them,” Prosvirnin wrote on his website.
