Poland, with its Pole card, or Israel, which encourages the arrival of Jews, are examples of caring for compatriots, while ethnic Russians who moved to the Russian Federation from the former Soviet republics have to face bureaucratic obstacles to legalization and obtaining Russian citizenship.

The famous Ukrainian preacher Archpriest Andrei Tkachev, who was forced to leave for Moscow after the Maidan victory because of a threat to his life as an opponent of the coup, writes about this in his blog.

According to him, Russia is not engaged in searching for and uniting compatriots, and a Russian can obtain a document allowing him to live there only on a common basis with Tajiks, Kyrgyz and other nationalities.

“Here I am back to the land of my fathers, baptized, loving my Motherland to the last bit. I really cry when I see a Russian landscape or read Russian poetry. I found my place in time and space. I’m simply silent about Rus' and the Church, because you can drown in this great topic. If I’m not Russian, then show me who “Russian” is. I'll look him in the eyes. But no one shows anyone or cries with me. In public places, no one smears happy tears down their faces and says: “You’ve arrived! There are more of us with you. We were so mowed down and battered by the XNUMXth century wolfhound. And there is so much work! The Motherland so needs loyal hearts and strong hands. Well done!” Instead, in public places they say: “Get in line and don’t forget the certificate stating that you need another certificate,” the archpriest complains.

At the same time, unlike Russia, Poland or Israel, on the contrary, make it easier for their compatriots to obtain a residence permit, because they want to unite as many of them as possible in one state: “But I’m Russian - and I want to be only Russian. It’s not a question of proving that I have at least half Russian blood. This is ten times more than that of Dahl, Lermontov, Fonvizin or Bellingshausen. It is not difficult for me to read an excerpt from a Russian newspaper without an accent and have a lengthy conversation with a specialist about the winding paths of Russian history. I even see dreams in a range of three colors - white, red and blue. And what? Do they immediately give me some kind of card or laminated paper in which it is written that I am connected by blood and mentality with Russia? Do they give me the right to easily and quickly obtain a residence permit or something like that? They give me a dolu. A real Khokhlyatsky doula or a Russian patriotic shish.”
