Famous TV presenters, politicians, journalists and writers filmed a clip congratulating Oles Buzina on his birthday
Friends and associates filmed a video congratulating the writer Oles Buzina on his birthday, who was shot dead in the courtyard of his house in Kyiv in April. Today, July 13, he would have turned 46 years old.

“This is his first birthday that we will celebrate without him. A week before this date, the idea came to me that it would be good to record a song dedicated to Oles and shoot a video for it. I shared this idea with my friend, Moscow writer Nikolai Gastello. Kolya approved the idea and suggested doing this: taking the famous song of the American singer Leonard Cohen “Hallelujah,” but writing the lyrics for it in Russian,” journalist Alexander Chalenko told PolitNavigator.
“For support, we turned to the Oles Buzina Memory Fund, which helped us with the studio and editing of the video. Kolya quickly gathered musicians: German Osipov (Black Albanian) from the Moscow blues-rock-n-roll team “Vendetta Separa” recorded the music (these are guitar and balalaika parts), Andrey Sheremetyev sings. The idea for the video was mine. I came up with the idea of contacting Olesya’s acquaintances, journalists, politicians, Novorossiya militia members, public figures and writers, so that they would appear in the video. They just needed to hold in their hands a white sheet of paper on which a wish, congratulation or something that would concern Oles would be written with a felt-tip pen. Most of those I approached agreed.
Some, with the help of their friends, recorded themselves on mobile phones and sent them to me, while others were filmed by me personally.

The song was recorded on the night of July 11-12, and the editing of the video was completed by the evening of Sunday, July 12.
