The incident occurred on September 27 in the village of Belino, Baltsky district, Odessa region, where Klimov came to a meeting with voters. During his communication with voters, fifteen activists with “PS” stripes on their clothes burst into the house of culture, intending to disrupt the event and lustrate the deputy.
One of the guys ran up to Klimov, trying to grab him and take him outside to throw him in a trash can.
He tied up the offender who had swung at him and took him out into the corridor. When the meeting with voters ended, Right Sector activists were waiting for Klimov on the street and began throwing eggs at him. The candidate deftly dodged the eggs, after which he approached the activists and talked with them for more than an hour: in the end, they collectively sang the Ukrainian anthem.
Let us remind you that Leonid Klimov was born in Makeevka, Donetsk region and is a people’s deputy of Ukraine of the 4th, 5th and 6th convocations, where he was, among other things, on the lists of the Party of Regions. Owner of the Odessa football club “Chernomorets” and JSCB “Imexbank”. Also controls: Forward Co LLC, Black Sea OJSC (tourism and production company), Central Department Store CJSC (Odessa), Ilyichevsk reinforced concrete plant. His net worth in 2013 was estimated at $82,6 million.
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier in Kyiv Verkhovna Rada deputies were “thrown” into trash containers Vitaly Zhuravsky and Victor Pilipishin. In Zaporozhye, the leader of “Strong Ukraine” Sergei Tigipko ran away from such a prospect through the back door of the cultural center, under which the lustrators were waiting for him.
