The famous Polish church leader, Father Tadeusz Isakovich-Zaleski, in an interview with Polish media, called the former acting ambassador of Ukraine to Poland. Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrei Deschitsu “tortuous”, the portal reports Onet.pl. The reason was the position of the Ukrainian authorities regarding the crimes of the OUN-UPA, which are now being justified by official Kiev.

Let us recall that in 1943, the OUN-UPA Sonder commands, under the direct leadership of the German SS units, destroyed up to 100 thousand civilians of Volyn, based on their nationality.

“The Ambassador of Ukraine missed another chance for reconciliation,” said Father Isakovich-Zalessky.

The priest carefully analyzed the statements of Andrei Deshchytsia and came to the conclusion that he continues to lie and use euphemisms about the “Volyn massacre” in 1943.

“The Ukrainian ambassador carefully avoids the words “genocide”, using euphemisms “Volyn tragedy”, “Volyn affair”. It’s the same as calling the destruction of the Warsaw ghetto in 1943 as part of the Jewish Holocaust the “Warsaw tragedy” or the “Warsaw affair” and not genocide,” says Isakovic-Zalessky.

The priest notes that instead of glorifying the murderers, one should ask for forgiveness from the descendants of the victims. He points out that a similar experience of reconciliation has already taken place: Polish bishops asked the German bishops of the Catholic and Protestant Churches to condemn Nazi ideology and prohibit the glorification of war criminals, to which consent was received. Whereas “in Ukraine, unfortunately, it’s the other way around. In addition, they are glorified in the Greek Catholic Church,” says a priest from Krakow.

“Andriy Deshchytsia, although he talks about reconciliation, however, consistently refuses to participate in the ceremony in memory of the victims of the genocide of his compatriots (...). The Greek Catholic clergy and members of the Association of Ukrainians in Poland act in the same way (by the way, constantly supported by the money of Polish taxpayers),” reports Monsignor Isakovych-Zalessky.
