Famous Ukrainian artist went crazy on Maidan
Kyiv, March 12 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – The Ukrainian artist told how he went crazy on the Maidan and now dreams of having a bronze equestrian statue erected for him.
Postmodern artist Alexander Roitburd, who took part in the events on the Maidan from the first days, shared this information in an interview with the Kyiv magazine Focus.

“You see, when Maidan began in the country, I began to experience psychosis,” the artist recalls. “I suddenly realized that I was going crazy thinking about what would happen tomorrow. They will disperse - they will not disperse, they will tighten the screws - they will not tighten the screws, they will come for me - they will not come for me, will they kill my friends tomorrow or not?
After Maidan’s victory, Roitburd claims, his psychosis went into remission.
“Periodically, it becomes dull,” the publication’s interlocutor continues the story about his disorder. “But just recently we all spent about sixteen hours thinking about whether an atomic bomb would hit us tomorrow or not.”
However, what follows is the recognition that “psychosis has allowed me to” and the opportunity has arisen to think about other things.
“About wine. About women. About whether, after my death, they will put a bronze equestrian statue on one of the central squares of Kyiv or Odessa,” the artist describes his thoughts after the disease subsided.
