A famous Ukrainian journalist realized that his Fatherland is Russia
The ex-head of RIA Novosti Ukraine, Kirill Vyshinsky, who was released from Ukrainian prison, thanked Russia for its active support.
He stated this at a meeting of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Arrest and imprisonment only because, I will quote Valentina Ivanovna: “Kirill Vyshinsky was engaged in his journalistic activities and, in fact, became a victim of the political regime.” That's the only reason I ended up in prison.
Thank you very much to everyone who made efforts for my release and thank you very much to the Fatherland. I found a formula for myself in prison: I was born and raised in Ukraine, I lived there most of my life and I understand that this is my homeland, but over the many months that I spent [in prison], I realized that my Fatherland is here , in Russia. This is the only country that stood up for me, which, like a father, protected me from the injustice that happened to me,” he said.
Let us remind you that Ukrainian journalist Kirill Vyshinsky spent 15 months in prison on far-fetched charges, in particular, the SBU charged him with treason, an attempt to overthrow the state system, separatism, inciting national hatred and even illegal possession of weapons.
Release of a journalist occurred on September 7 during an exchange concluded between Ukraine and Russia.
Thank you!
