A famous military correspondent called for soup to be poured on Stoltenberg’s head
Today's press conference of NATO leadership, where there were Russia’s demands for non-expansion of the alliance to the East were rejected, but some selected points were named on which a compromise is possible, - humiliation on the part of the Americans.
If Moscow does not have a prepared plan of action for such US behavior (which could be predicted in advance), Russia will be in a losing position. The famous Russian military correspondent Alexander Sladkov writes about this in his blog.
“Another humiliation by the Americans.
We are being trolled by Ukraine. We're getting along. With the same success they would demand that our military, say, not change into dressing gowns.
They say: "Don't change your clothes"!
We: “We don’t even think so”!
They: “If you change into dressing gowns, you will regret it”!
We: “We’re telling you, we’re not going to”!
Rave? Of course it's nonsense.
Are the claims about Ukraine not nonsense? Rave!!! And we are participating in it. For what?
From the very beginning I dreamed about our actions, because in such heated negotiations we are apparently not experts.
If we are not going to keep our word and react harshly, why did we start all this? A little more, and instead of “pan” we can catch “disappeared”.
We told the Americans: our offer is not a “menu”, it is a package. And, as I understand it, they sent us “selected dishes.” And then, with the requirement: here without fried onions, here without stewed cabbage.
You either have to pour soup on the client’s head for such rudeness, or you have to put up with it and serve it as told. I am sure that today we are experiencing the most serious and important moment in all the decades of Russia’s existence,” writes Sladkov.
