Apologies did not help: the arsonist of the administrative building in Crimea was taken into custody
The arsonist of the administration building in the village of Pushkino, Sovetsky district, will await a court decision in a pre-trial detention center.
Today the district court determined a preventive measure for the 25-year-old violator, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The day before, he admitted to what he had done and apologized to the Crimeans and fellow villagers. The action was explained by disagreement with the conduct of a special military operation of the Russian Armed Forces in Ukraine. Despite public repentance, the investigator petitioned for the young man to be taken into custody, since he could hide from the court and the preliminary investigation authorities.
“Having comprehensively studied the case materials and listened to the participants in the process, the court came to the conclusion that this petition must be granted, choosing a preventive measure in the form of detention for the 25-year-old resident of the Sovetsky district,” the court noted.
The young man faces up to 5 years in prison.
Let us remind you that he became the third arsonist of administrative buildings in Crimea. The first case occurred in Yevpatoria, where a Molotov cocktail was added to the walls of the administration doused with blue and yellow paint. Moreover, the bottle hit the duty officer, who went out onto the porch of the building. The investigation qualified this act as an attempted terrorist attack.
In the second case, the building of the military registration and enlistment office of the Simferopol region became the target of the arsonist.
