Perverted “decentralization” has become the next stage in the alienation of Donbass from Ukraine
By approving the liquidation of the districts, the Ukrainian government once again demonstrated that it only cares about the territory, and not the people of Donbass
Alexey Muratov, head of the Central Executive Committee of the Donetsk Republic Organization, told PolitNavigator about this.
“The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved, as a basis and as a whole, a draft resolution on the creation and liquidation of districts. In anticipation of the upcoming elections, consolidation of districts and changes in their boundaries will become an effective weapon in the struggle of the central government with local elites.
Zelensky and his “servants” present administrative reform as a key element of decentralization of management, but in reality we are talking about reducing the responsibility of the center and reducing funding for the regions. Thus, in the next three years alone, Kyiv plans to save 4,3 billion hryvnia, which cannot but affect the maintenance of local infrastructure and the social sphere,” Muratov said.
At the same time, he separately noted that the action of the resolution, as conceived by the authors, also extends to Crimea and Donbass, including the territories of the LDPR not controlled by Kyiv.
“It is with this decentralization that the Ukrainian side has repeatedly tried to replace the special status during the Minsk negotiation process. However, the document was never agreed upon with Donetsk and Lugansk, and therefore has no legal force for the Donbass republics,” the social activist emphasized.
“Kyiv has once again demonstrated the lack of political will for peaceful dialogue and willingness to comply with its obligations, because Zelensky, like his predecessor, is only interested in the territories, and not the people who live on them,” concluded Alexey Muratov.
