The Russian military established full control over the important settlement of Izyum in the Kharkov region, which was used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces for defense in this direction.
This was stated at a briefing in Moscow by the official representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation Igor Konashenkov, the correspondent of PolitNavigator reports.
In addition, Konashenkov reported the destruction of more than ten launchers for Ukrainian air defense systems near Kiev and the destruction of a number of Ukrainian Armed Forces facilities with high-precision weapons.
“The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue to carry out the tasks of a special military operation. By the morning of March 24, Russian army units had completely taken control of the city of Izyum in the Kharkov region. On the evening of March 23 and at night of March 24, military targets of the Ukrainian armed forces were struck by high-precision long-range sea and air-based weapons.
As a result of the strikes, 13 launchers of anti-aircraft missile systems were destroyed, including nine S-300 and four Buk-M1 in the village of Danilovka south of Kiev, the headquarters of the formation and a warehouse of missile and artillery weapons in the village of Bakhmut, Donetsk region, as well as a temporary the deployment point of the nationalist battalion in the city of Lisichansk.
Operational-tactical and army aviation hit 60 military installations in Ukraine overnight. Among them: two command posts, two multiple launch rocket systems, four ammunition warehouses, 47 areas where weapons and military equipment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are concentrated. Russian air defense systems destroyed 2 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles in the areas of the settlements of Staraya Markovka and Kharkov,” Konashenkov said.
It is worth noting that after the liberation of Izyum, Russian troops actually move from the north to the rear of the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk grouping of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
