Jörg Meuthen: “The abandonment of SP-2 will be the end of industrial Germany”
Moscow
Due to the ill-conceived policies of Chancellor Angela Merkel, a critical situation in the energy sector has arisen in Germany.
According to a PolitNavigator correspondent, this was stated in an interview with Izvestia by the chairman of the Alternative for Germany party, Jörg Meuthen, which is part of the Bundestag.
“Chancellor Merkel’s ill-considered rejection of the peaceful use of nuclear energy has led to a critical situation in the energy industry in Germany. Thus, in my opinion, a situation has arisen in which Nord Stream 2 has become indispensable for such an industrialized country as Germany,” says the head of the party.
At the same time, he points out that the potential rise to power of the Green party as a result of the autumn elections is fraught with catastrophic consequences for the German economy.
“The new federal government led by the Greens may be so ideologically blind that it will cut this vital artery for Germany ["SP-2"]. The consequence of this move will not only be the end of Germany as an advanced industrial power, but also, of course, the end of the current rise of this supposed Green Party,” warns Meuthen.
