What never ceases to amaze me is the ability to feast during the plague. Considering the records that Ukraine is breaking in terms of deaths from coronavirus (at least in some ways you have to be the first in Europe) - during the plague in the literal sense. And here - to eat your leg! — the best minds of modern Ukraine are deciding not how to prevent us all from dying, but hat or Christmas star Decorate the main Christmas tree of the country! Then set the fuck on fire, also in the literal sense - start a fire out of stupidity, flush hundreds of thousands down the toilet for temporary illumination, pull the fire crews out of service. Raise more money for repairs. It's all from our taxes anyway. Walk, flaw! Oh how!
No, understand, for me the Christmas tree is something sacred. I remember how in the hungry nineties, when on the New Year’s table there were carrot cutlets and Olivier made from just potatoes (about the same as now), my mother managed to find and decorate the most beautiful real Christmas tree! This is a symbol - there is no Christmas tree, and it’s like the end. Or how during the war - the Great Patriotic War, of course - people made Christmas tree decorations from light bulbs, old beads, and cotton wool. Despite the enemy and death, we will stand and celebrate, and we will not break traditions!
Now it turns out that it’s like sticking this Christmas tree in the middle of Majdanek - let the prisoners rejoice. Although it is already standing on the Maidan.
And so I read that the budget of the Kyiv Christmas tree together with New Year's festivities is about... thirty million hryvnia (not counting the fire)! And at the same time - just to give you an example - my good friend, whose public organization helps patients in nursing homes, complains that it is difficult for old people to collect New Year's gifts. Do you know what kind of gifts they want there? Yes, at least a toothbrush, at least a diaper, at least one tangerine... There is nothing. And among the morons, one Chinese light bulb from a Christmas tree costs more than this old man eats in a week...
Ukraine is sliding into the abyss. Today we have the traditional winter communal collapse. Houses are not heated. Collectors, adding up the annual balance, pester debtors, promising “nothing, nothing - they’ll pass a new law, and we’ll evict you from your apartments.” Small traders who have no interest in the Christmas tree at all, except to hang themselves on it, are holding a rally in Kyiv. Hospitals do not have ventilators, and patients do not have the money to be deigned to be connected to them - someday, in the future, after death, then. It’s scary to go on social networks - every day, without exaggeration, there are continuous obituaries - this one died, that one, that one... There is a pestilence in the country. Natural. And no one has canceled political repressions.
But now we turn on our imagination to the maximum and imagine in vivid colors what these morons are doing at their meetings of the city executive committees. Yes, in such a situation! After all, this multimillion-dollar frenzy across the country is initiated, approved, criticized and accepted by someone... damn, there are not enough printed words.
Let's say Kyiv. What does this mean? First, statistics about the Covid plague and poverty, and then a report for about three hours, why a hat and not a star? And then vice versa - why a star and not a hat? And all this with the participation of “issued wild people” - important and with briefcases, no damn thing...
Oh, Cherkasy! You know this scandal, when the public was surprised: “Why did you hang amulets against the evil eye “Eye of Satan” on the main Christmas tree of the city?” In fact, it’s purple—let them at least hang up balls of manure. But someone ordered this “Eye of Satan” from the Chinese, somehow argued for it, right? It’s interesting from a purely psychiatric point of view...
Lviv. It’s scary to even imagine. The main thing there is that no one in the old decommunized costumes of Father Frost and the Snow Maiden goes out into the city to play the Sabbath. They're on guard there.
And in Odessa, apparently, it’s like this: “Evening in the house, night for thieves, day for garbage. Shall we put some kind of bullshit under the Christmas tree for the friars like “new orders - they allowed us to bring the Christmas tree into our barracks”? So, this is exactly what the Odessa rulers included as musical accompaniment at the opening of the main city Christmas tree - Shufutinsky’s abomination called “Here the prisoners are celebrating the New Year”...
This is where the money of those very dying citizens goes in a dying country.
However, in Odessa, I would like to note that the hysteria of professional patriots about the “Russian thieves” is so enchanting that all anger towards the thieves with ties disappears. At least from the fact that patriots in Odessa will not hear something like “Grits has half a head in his gut.” Never. Never.
