By 2020, one and a half new bridges will be built in Ukraine in the entire history of Independence.
By 2020, when mayoral elections are due to take place in Kyiv, Vitaliy Klitschko intends to pompously open the first stage of a long-term construction project - the Podolsky Bridge.
Former Deputy Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Alexander Kava stated this in an interview with the Ukrlife.TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“During the years of independence, only one bridge appeared in Ukraine - Darnitsky or the George Kirpa Bridge, which was built on his initiative.
The active stage of construction of the Podolsky Bridge is currently underway. If the city authorities continue to finance the facility at this rate, then I think that in 2020 car traffic on the Podolsky Bridge will be open.
This will still be an incomplete work of the bridge. There will be movement from the Rybalsky Peninsula towards the Rainbow Massif. There will be no exit to Podol other than through Naberezhno-Rybalskaya and Naberezhno-Khreshchatytskaya.
As far as I understand, this is an election strategy of Vitali Klitschko’s team to beautifully open traffic on the Podolsky Bridge before the next mayoral elections,” said Kava.
