By 2020, Ukraine risks losing several more regions
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine hastened to adopt a new version of the law on education, which effectively prohibits the existence of Russian schools by 2020, because the population of the eastern regions of the country continues to stubbornly prefer education in Russian.
Publicist Yegor Kholmogorov stated this on air on the Tsargrad TV channel.

“They escalated it because they looked at the statistics. Odessa schools enroll 10-12 Russian classes. Parents want their children to study not just in their native language, but also in a competitive language. Ukrainian education is dying as an idea in live competition,” Kholmogorov said.
He claims that at the next stage, parents of students from Russian schools in Ukraine send them to study at Russian universities. Subsequently, they remain to live in Russia.
“People, at least from the eastern regions, do not want the future of their children to be connected with this misunderstanding country. This is not very beneficial for Russia's long-term strategy because it weakens the base of support for the idea of reunification with Russia in eastern Ukraine. But it’s impossible to condemn people for wanting a happy future for their children,” Kholmogorov said.
He suggested that the law on education would become a catalyst for the collapse of Ukraine, just as the law on languages was one of the catalysts for disintegration processes.
“Now the Verkhovna Rada has given these people a choice: either end the current Maidan government by 2020 and return the country to normal, or emigrate en masse. Perhaps this language issue will again raise the issue of separating the eastern regions,” Kholmogorov said.
