Tymoshenko and Lyashko joined the fight against Zelensky
Not only Petro Poroshenko “puts a spoke in the wheels” of Vladimir Zelensky, handing out positions and awards in the last days of his stay in power. Yulia Tymoshenko and Oleg Lyashko, who are not interested in the early dissolution of the Verkhovna Rada, have joined the process of delaying the appointment of the inauguration date, but, on the contrary, expect to increase their rating by criticizing the failures of the newly elected president.
Kiev economist and political scientist Oleg Soskin said this on the YouTube channel “Politeka Online”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“Zelensky today has no leverage to bring the moment of inauguration closer. Therefore, if it happens, as they initially say, then it will be the end of May - the beginning of June, that is, they will delay it until the end.
He, of course, can threaten, he can criticize, his supporters will do the same, but I think that the Supreme Council will not flinch, and they simply will not gain a majority.
None of the current people in power need his quick inauguration, because various things need to be completed, financial transactions, and some things need to be cleaned up. Still, they thought that Poroshenko would run for a second term, so no one prepared,” Soskin explained.
He noted that the meeting with Zelensky was ignored by the leaders of the Verkhovna Rada factions.
“Tymoshenko and Lyashko didn’t come either. This is a very symptomatic sign, a serious signal that “we won’t rush, while we present you with the sixth ones creeping up, talk to them, because it’s like you’re not the president yet, let’s see what you’re ready for.”
That is, they ignored it, and this suggests that they are not focused on inaugurating him on the 19th, and will not make any concessions.
This will be a normal, serious, adult game, so they tell him: “We won’t give you our field, Zelensky. Do you want to fight? Fight for every square centimeter." They seem to force him to take steps; the force of action gives rise to the force of reaction,” Soskin concluded.
