Ukrainian nationalists who tried to travel to the front-line Zolote to disrupt a possible withdrawal of troops were detained by local police at a checkpoint near the town of Kremennaya in the Luhansk region.
The nationalists themselves report this in their Telegram channel “Last Checkpoint,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“People who travel en masse from all over Ukraine to Zolote are detained at checkpoints. The authorities are openly disrupting the peaceful action of patriots against surrender! Another checkpoint in the village of Kremennoye. A column with caring Ukrainians and national flags are not allowed to attend a peaceful rally in Zolote. The authorities are afraid of volunteers and prevent them from standing up for citizens,” the nationalists wrote.
After this, the radicals said that the police allegedly “opened fire on veterans and activists,” despite the fact that after the aggressive behavior of the militants, the police fired a shot into the air.
“Today a convoy arrived here a few hours ago. My personal initiative was to provide all the lists of people and passports in order to pass control and move on. But the task was different - to detain us. Therefore, they first tricked us into a special septic tank where all the cars were driven, then they started asking questions, then they stopped checking our documents.
It all started to turn heated at this checkpoint. But the point came when one of the policemen began firing a firearm just above the heads of the veterans and volunteers. At first, it seems, he fired one shot, then he gave the command for the people to move away and gave the command to his unit “to fight,” so that they would also use weapons against the veterans, volunteers and activists who were there,” the ex-commander said about what happened National Battalion "Azov" Maxim Zhorin, noting that after this the militants still managed to pass the checkpoint.
Donetsk journalist Sergei Makarenko, commenting on this situation, expressed the opinion that everything that is happening could be an operation specially planned by Kiev.
“The police fired into the air, and this action may well have been planned as a whole. For example, the Ukrainian Armed Forces leave Zolote, and the Nazis enter and take their positions. Formally, Zelya fulfilled the agreements, but in fact, “nothing came out of me, you see, there are nationalists here.” And the sheep are safe, and the wolves are fed,” he wrote in his Telegram channel.
