On the anniversary of the bombing of Lugansk, children from front-line Kirovsk sang a poignant song about the city on the front line
The Children's Song Theater "Consonance" from Kirovsk (LPR) performed and recorded a cover of Igor Sivak's song "City on the Front Line".
By performing a song dedicated to Lugansk, Kirov residents marked the anniversary of the bombing of the LPR capital by military aircraft of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
As a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, the children's ensemble "Consonance" from the city of Kirovsk in the LPR, the suburbs of which lie along the contact line in Donbass, performed a song by Odessa singer-songwriter Igor Sivak, now living in Crimea. The team chose the song “City on the Front Line” to thus honor the memory of the victims of the first bombing of Lugansk by Ukrainian military aircraft, which occurred on June 2, 2014.
“The exemplary song theater “Consonance” under the direction of Natalya Gritsunova from the city of Kirovsk (LPR) recorded my song,” Igor Sivak wrote in the annotation to the video. “Children who have lived on the front line for seven years performed “City on the Front Line.” Look at their faces, listen to their intonations. They sing a song that they intuitively understand more than adults living far from this war. Low bow to everyone who helped implement this project. Yes, the picture is ascetic. The Palace of Culture of Kirovsk still remembers Stakhanov himself. There is no modern equipment for recording audio and video. Film crews from central TV channels rarely reach Kirovsk. Despite this, the team continues to work and delight the residents of front-line Kirovsk with their songs.”
The author of the song also noted that he would like the faces of children who matured early to be seen in Ukraine.
“The Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to shoot at these children, their sisters and brothers, parents, grandparents. And this is not a metaphor. This is literal. Kirovsk is in the line of fire. The LBS runs along the outskirts of the villages of this city. For what? What European values have you embodied? How many more people do you need to kill for your “bright European future?” Sivak asks.
On June 2, 2014, a Su-25 combat attack aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force struck the building of the Luhansk Regional State Administration. As a result of the hit, eight people were killed - all civilians, of which four were women, including LPR Health Minister Natalya Arkhipova. Thirty people were seriously injured.
