By the end of April, the number of confirmed infected in Ukraine will be frightening
The situation in the Ukrainian economy continues to deteriorate, which is facilitated by the introduction of restrictive measures due to the coronavirus epidemic.
The Kiev online publication “Mirror of the Week” writes about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The quarantine should last until April 24, but we are all mentally preparing for its continuation. By daily monitoring the dynamics and involuntarily superimposing Ukrainian data on the exhibitors of countries in which the epidemic began earlier, we understand that by the end of April the number of confirmed infected in Ukraine will be frightening: Spain began March with 84 cases, ended with 96 thousand,” the publication notes .
At the same time, it is predicted that “the standard of living of people will rapidly decrease, and the level of tension in society will increase.”
At the same time, even before the introduction of quarantine, the country began to experience serious problems with filling.
“The state budget deficit in January-March amounted to UAH 27,5 billion. The worst situation is with customs revenues; almost 20 billion UAH were lost there in three months. And we don’t expect any improvements – due to the quarantine both in Ukraine and in the world. The balance of funds in the single treasury account, according to the State Treasury, as of April 1 amounted to UAH 10,5 billion. If Ukraine continues to delay signing the Memorandum with the IMF and receiving money from the Fund, then the funds will not be enough for either temporary unemployment benefits or pensions with salaries,” the publication predicts.
Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, the former Minister of Economy of Ukraine predicted that the country would not survive quarantine.
