By the end of the year, Ukraine will be shaken by land redistribution scandals
It’s time for Ukrainian land owners to check in the state geocadastre and the register of land rights whether they still own the plots that they owned before, since a massive seizure of agricultural land will soon begin.
Lawyer Elena Lukash stated this on air on the First Independent TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If Zelensky’s so-called land reform operates within the framework of already adopted acts and is not changed, then very dire consequences can be predicted. For the land itself, for the people who have lost this land, for the state as a whole, for territorial communities, rural territorial communities that will disappear if large latifundists appear, who absolutely do not care whether a Ukrainian village lives or has disappeared, they cultivate their land.
That is, this story of Zelensky’s team about the launch of a land market and now incredible capital will come to us, incredible harvests will grow, Ukraine will become the most attractive for investment and there will be a garden city here, this story is a lie. And we can be sure of this. Of course, not in July, while the main players are taking a closer look at the market and trying out the first deals. But towards the end of the year, we will be shaken by the abundance of stories related to land dispossession, raiding, interference in land issues, and so on.
I would like to ask now all owners of agricultural land, all owners of shares, to contact the state geocadastre and check the availability of their own land plot, its registration, and contact the register of rights through a notary, and also check this land plot - do you still have it? Does it belong to you? What are its dimensions? Are they exactly the same size as you? In order not to go to court in the future and not lose this site. Because we quite often hear complaints that something is happening in the cadastre and in the register,” the expert said.
In her opinion, changes will not begin immediately, but they are inevitable, since the state’s policy is to deprive citizens of their property.
“First, everyone will take a closer look at the normative monetary valuation of the land plot and the offers on the market. But in the future, Ukrainians will be forced to get rid of their own land, because Zelensky’s entire state policy is aimed at making people become poor - both housing and utility bills and the tax burden make it impossible to maintain their own property.
It doesn’t matter whether it is an apartment or a plot of land or other personal property. All politics is about this - squeeze it out and throw it away. And, of course, people will sell their land, but I don’t know what else they will do with this amount, which will quickly disappear without a territorial community,” the expert concluded.
