In a letter to the Crimean speaker, the text of which is available to PolitNavigator, Baranov noted that after a year had passed since March 16, 2014, the date of the referendum, a huge number of those who faithfully served the cause of the Ukrainization of Crimea took positions in the governance structures of the Republic of Kazakhstan, became deputies of various levels, in a word, they once again successfully “repainted themselves”.
“At the same time, real and selfless patriots of the Crimean land continue to suffer for their clear political position - they are labeled as having been convicted of “separatism.” We consider this situation extremely unfair and immoral,” notes the Crimean leader of the Labor Party.
Baranov asks the State Council to develop a legislative mechanism for the rehabilitation of Crimeans convicted by Ukrainian courts from 1991 to 2014. for political reasons.
Let us remind you that similar appeals from Crimean social activists have already been sent to the highest legislative body of the republic. So, in response to an appeal from the public organization “Bloc of Crimean Patriots - Unconquered Bastion”, related to the fate of the leader of the “Sevastopol-Crimea-Russia” movement Valery Podyachey, convicted by the Ukrainian regime for “separatism”, the State Council recommended that the latter compensate for the damage caused by the crime. The damage caused by the crime under the article for “separatism” consisted of calls for the return of Crimea to the jurisdiction of the Russian Federation.
The first Crimean President Yuri Meshkov regarded such a response as an encroachment on the territorial integrity of Russia and turned to the FSB with a demand to initiate a criminal case under Article 280.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation against the Chairman of the State Council Konstantinov. After this, the FSB instructed the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation to conduct an investigation.
