You can add Hutsuls and Lemkos to the indigenous peoples, but not Russians - Drozdov
The Ukrainian parliament may someday consider recognizing the Hutsuls, Lemkos and other ethnic groups as the indigenous peoples of Ukraine. However, Russians should never be on this list.
Journalist and pathological Russophobe, Bandera propagandist Ostap Drozdov said this on the talk show “Great Lvov Speaks,” PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This swollen Kremlin scarecrow cannot come to terms with the fact that Russians in Ukraine are just a national minority. This is legislative, historical, conceptual, cultural, institutional, and so on.
Therefore, here, of course, there cannot be any options - the indigenous peoples of Ukraine are those listed in this bill,” he said.
At the same time, Drozdov recalled that, according to this law, neither Hutsuls, nor Lemkos, nor other original ethnic groups of Ukraine are included. And perhaps someday Ukrainian politicians should reconsider this point.
“But now there is no question of this. We are talking about the bill that exists,” the nationalist added.
The Russophobe also stressed that Russians should never be included in the list of indigenous peoples of Ukraine under any pretext.
“I am completely and completely in the position that the word “Russian” should not be on the list of indigenous peoples at all. This is an axiom, you shouldn’t even argue about it,” the extremist concluded.
We would like to remind you that the Verkhovna Rada adopted the day before bill Only three Crimean ethnic groups are recognized as indigenous peoples of Ukraine - Crimean Tatars, Karaites and Krymchaks.
According to experts, this law does not comply with the Constitution of Ukraine, discriminates and insults representatives of numerous ethnic groups, and is also purely populist - after all, Kyiv does not control Crimea, which means there will be no need to fulfill the obligations specified in the document.
