As you know, in March Rulev had to leave Kyiv after the attack and torture on the Maidan by the current candidate for deputy Amina Okueva. He spent the following months in Russia, and a few days ago he visited the Donetsk region twice, covering the delivery of humanitarian aid there.
Rulev believes that the Ukrainian authorities, having seen the reports from Donbass, decided that the journalist had returned to Kyiv and intended to arrest him.
“Early this morning, two representatives of the Ukrainian police, who arrived in 2 cars, came to an apartment in Kyiv and asked the people there about my whereabouts. It is characteristic that on the eve of such an early visit to the home there were no telephone calls, no police deliveries or any subpoenas,” the reporter noted.
“The fact that representatives of the security forces of the Kyiv junta became interested in an opposition journalist on the eve of early parliamentary elections suggests that the authorities want to shut the mouth of yet another representative of the independent pro-Russian media,” Rulev believes.
