A new boat route through the bay connected the center of Sevastopol and the Konstantinovskaya coastal battery, where, after renovation, the headquarters of the Russian Geographical Society (RGS), whose president is Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, was opened.

“Small boats have started moving from berth 156 every 15 minutes. The system has been worked out with travel agencies,” said Vice-Governor of Sevastopol Vladimir Bazarov
The battery, built in 1840, was restored according to old drawings. The Russian Geographical Society spent 780 million rubles on restoration. Since November last year, a museum dedicated to the history of the Russian Geographical Society has been operating in the battery.
