War, Donbass, The Interview

The Donbass republics still adhere to the ban on firing in response to Ukrainian provocations. Apparently, the reason is the hope that the situation in Kyiv will change after the elections to the Verkhovna Rada, when Vladimir Zelensky will receive his own faction, form an executive branch and, theoretically, no longer need to flirt with the Nazis. However, impunity only emboldens Ukrainian militants on the front line, who fire at residential buildings, maiming civilians every day. Ex-Minister of Defense of the DPR Igor Khakimzyanov told PolitNavigator columnist Valentin Filippov about this.

Valentin Filippov: I greet the first Minister of Defense of the DPR, Igor Khakimzyanov. Ukrainian special services kidnapped Colonel Tsemakh from Donbass, who will now try to be tried for the Malaysian Boeing.

Igor Khakimzyanov: Yes, I read it. Strelok and a number of other guys were also put on the wanted list. This is all nonsense.

Valentin Filippov: How is it that we voluntarily hand over four prisoners to Ukraine, and immediately after that they steal our retired officer from us?

Igor Khakimzyanov: So in general, life in the DPR is a strange thing. It is full of mysteries and contradictions. It's difficult to say anything here. I can give a number of examples when officials, authorized persons who have received a mandate to govern here on the territory of the LDPR, behave somehow pro-Ukrainian. They have economic interests in Russia, but are politically drawn to Ukraine. Although the population still does not support such an initiative.

But who asks people?

Valentin Filippov: Discussions about a new “window of opportunity” after Zelensky came to power in practice resulted in an increase in the number of shellings.

Igor Khakimzyanov: Shelling takes place regularly. My friends and comrades who remained at the front tell a variety of stories. Up to such absurd situations that the Ukrainian “beha” on the contact line is standing sixty meters away. 60 meters!

Valentin Filippov:  Can't you burn it?

Igor Khakimzyanov: It is forbidden! The dill came, shot, and left. I ask the boy a question, I say: “Vanya, why won’t you overcome it? 60 meters, two people got out and took it. They kicked her out of there. They would take it for themselves. We’d like to squeeze it out quietly, while no one knows.” - “What are you doing?” - he says - “Our officers are aware of the whole situation, we will be ruined.”

And so they arrived, shot, and brought the BC with them to the shooting. An absurd situation.

As long as this beha is not a bone in the throat, there are no victims from its shooting. But the situation may change.

After the shelling that occurs, a lot of civilians die. Recently, on Petrovka, an apartment building was very seriously shelled. About two or three apartments were damaged. And what? Only two people were slightly injured there? Information about all the victims is not reported.

Valentin Filippov: Perhaps the expectation is that the OSCE will see and say: “Ukraine is shelling, but the DPR is behaving peacefully. Ukraine is the aggressor."

Igor Khakimzyanov:  If at least one of the high-ranking officials were settled on the outskirts, although I don’t wish this on anyone, and if he experienced first-hand all the grief and misfortune that an ordinary resident of the DPR experiences, I think the situation would begin to change. Someone would start to have a rough voice.

But since people live somewhere in the middle of the city of Donetsk, where nothing reaches or reaches, only the sound is heard, and they feel calm, of course, the interests of people are alien to them. And the fact that they are given the task that “Ukraine must be peace-loving, now, on the eve of the elections to the Verkhovna Rada in Ukraine, Zelensky is the new president, and maybe we can come to an agreement with him, and we will solve the problem peacefully” - this is nonsense.

That's bullshit.

I'll tell you honestly. Hand on heart. There is no such peaceful solution to the conflict. Because dill is located on our territory. The only peaceful solution to the conflict is for the dill to leave our territory, from the administrative borders of Donetsk and Lugansk regions. They leave this territory. Let them not clear the mines, let them not do shit. Let them go to hell. Peacefully, calmly, they took it and left.

And that's all.

Valentin Filippov: Now people are applying en masse to obtain citizenship of the Russian Federation. And at the same time, we are seeing a flash mob to appeal to Zelensky. “Zelensky, give us autonomy.” How do these two flash mobs compare? To receive Russian passports en masse and a flash mob “Zelensky-Zelensky”? What Zelensky if we are citizens of Russia? Let's do a flash mob for Putin then.

Igor Khakimzyanov: Quote from the movie “Mimino”: “I’ll tell you one smart thing, just don’t be offended”... So, the situation is as follows, regarding passports. There is a certain mass presence. On the territory of the Russian Federation, they somehow worked out a mechanism for issuing passports. But nothing has been worked out on our part, even from the word “at all.”

The problem is that there are not enough employees. In our executive committees there are a bunch of assholes who sit and wipe their asses, who like to shift work from their shoulders to the shoulders of others, state employees, for example. Honestly, I can even use swear words.

Take the executive committee workers to help those same migration workers. Or employees of the registry office, the Ministry of Justice. Highlight people. You have bureaucrats... But no one needs this. They prefer to sit in the shade and relax. But as a result, we have colossal queues.

Okay, we made an electronic queue, well done. But it needs to be opened not at one point, like ours, but at several. Connect them with a single network. And here, imagine, the Main Post Office, there are a million people standing there. The Main Post Office - and there is a line from it, as in the times of artificial shortages in the Moscow Central Department Store.

Valentin Filippov: Is there a long queue for the flash mob with Zelensky? Do you need to register in advance to address the President of Ukraine?

Igor Khakimzyanov:  You will be surprised, I went to the site, there are already about half a million. I have already expressed my opinion on this matter. I paid attention to the site itself. “Zelensky, admit your choice,” something like that. This is an absolute sham. Caring people started checking, and it turned out that half of them, even more, were people from Russia. Photos of people from Russia, to which the names of our supposedly local residents are attached, and the cities of the LDPR are signed. It's humiliating.

Valentin Filippov: That is, you want to say that this site is being made from Russia?

Igor Khakimzyanov:  No. This is a program that takes photos of people from Russia.... And in the comments there was one friend who found a maniac there. A wanted maniac. You understand?

Valentin Filippov:  Well, look, maniacs are turning to Zelensky.

Igor Khakimzyanov:  Yes. Maniacs are turning. So, regarding this flash mob. Regarding video messages. People called me, school employees. They were ordered to allocate several people to record a video message to Zelensky. By order. I said refuse. Nobody will do anything to you. Let them just try to do something...

Valentin Filippov:  Literally immediately, a criminal case was opened against the head of the LPR Pasechnik, who also turned to Zelensky, in Ukraine.

Igor Khakimzyanov: Yes, to hell with it, with that Ukraine. They have already sentenced me to 15 years. In absentia. And they arrested him. So what now? I saw them, do you know where? That's not the question. The question is that all this is happening with the permission, either passive or active, of the current government. This means it is beneficial for someone. Therefore, here it is necessary to confront in the information field. Hard. And by the way, we are currently dealing with this issue. We are preparing to hold a reverse flash mob. “Donbass is Russia.”

Valentin Filippov: So, shouldn’t receiving Russian Federation passports be considered a similar flash mob?

Igor Khakimzyanov:  Well, let's just say they actually get passports. And the fact is obvious, this is a certain mechanism and method of influencing Zelensky, on Ukraine, because, according to the Constitution of the Russian Federation, the Russian Federation is obliged to protect its citizens on the territory of any state. And if even after this the Russian Federation does nothing, does not react in any way, then it will be difficult to say anything...
