The head of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, published a statement addressed to Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, where in harsh terms he demanded to stop lying, fiddling and wagging.

The reason for Kadyrov’s speech was a fragment of Zelensky’s interview, which he gave a year and a half ago, before the presidential elections, to propagandist Dmitry Gordon.

Gordon asked Zelensky to comment on the 2014 incident when the artist used a video of Kadyrov crying in his humorous show, trying to play up the controversy surrounding the demolition of the monument to Lenin in Kharkov.

The sound in the video was changed: it turned out that a crying Ramzan Kadyrov was lamenting the broken Lenin. Zelensky used the words of an old man who mourns the destroyed monument in Kharkov as the soundtrack.

Initially, social media users believed that the video of Kadyrov crying was a recording from his father’s funeral. But later it turned out that the scene used by the Ukrainian comedian was filmed in 2012 during the holy Muslim prayer.

Then Zelensky apologized. “The guys, the directors, had a task - to find famous people who cry or laugh, and they accidentally ended up on this particular video. I am sure that no one would mock sacred things. If the video offended anyone, I apologize,” he said.

Zelensky was clearly lying - after all, on air before the start of the video, he announced the appearance of Kadyrov in the frame.

Now, in an interview with Gordon, Zelensky emphasized that he apologized not specifically to Kadyrov, but to all Muslims who found the “95th Quarter” video offensive.

This interpretation outraged the leader of Chechnya, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“I watched another answer from Vladimir Zelensky to a question about his offensive video, which he posted on a Ukrainian comedy show several years ago.

I once knew Zelensky as a man who, having admitted his guilt, had the honor of apologizing. It was worthy of a man. But why now, after the accepted apology, try to pretend to be something, fuss, wag, try to elevate yourself? Now, having received the powers of the President of Ukraine, you come up with new versions of apologies every time. You will have to firmly determine your position and confirm your apology. If not, then you will have to answer to me not as the head of the republic, but as the son of the First President of the Chechen Republic, Hero of Russia Akhmat-Khadzhi Kadyrov, whose memory you insulted!

I am the son of the deceased Father, an infantryman of the Great Leader Vladimir Putin, a defender of my people. You too, Vladimir Alexandrovich, choose the most suitable status for yourself, finally decide on who you are. You are dishonest and resourceful not only in your words, but also in your campaign promises. They promised to end the war, but you are continuing the work of your predecessor Poroshenko.

What prevents you from fulfilling the hopes of two great nations? What's stopping you from calling Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin and announcing that you are ending this civil war in eastern Ukraine? Pride or someone else's will?

Once upon a time, our countries, our peoples could not admit the thought that war would divide us. But times have changed, now the overseas will orders our Ukrainian brothers to kill Russian people in Donetsk and Lugansk.

Be a man, Vladimir Alexandrovich, always keep your word! Build proper, good neighborly relations with Great Russia. I am sure that the guarantor of the Constitution of Ukraine must take the first step!” – says Kadyrov’s address.

"Two options. 1. Or Kadyrov is thus currying favor with Putin. 2. Or is this an announcement of increasing pressure on Ukraine,” comments Ukrainian political scientist Olesya Yakhno.

Ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, one of the instigators of Euromaidan, former journalist, and now “little pig” Sergei Leshchenko interprets Kadyrov’s statement as evidence of irritation with Zelensky in the Kremlin.

“He did not make a single concession to Putin that he expected. He has no progress in the Ukrainian direction. Putin needs this to lift sanctions... I don’t see any other reason to comment on the interview from a year and a half ago,” Leshchenko said.
