“The West once again showed its face, distorted by a grimace of hypocrisy, cowardice and intrigue. Russia's exclusion from participation in the Olympics is not the decision of the athletes, but the meanness of flabby officials.
Sport is meant to unite peoples, not destroy the world. Using sports for personal political interests is weakness and cowardice.
It is important for Russians to compete under their own flag. We have a Motherland, we have our Fatherland! Not a single athlete with Chechen registration will compete under a neutral flag. And we will honor those Chechen athletes who, according to all the criteria, should have been included in the national team and went to the Olympics, as winners!
The IOC is afraid that the Russian tricolor will develop at the Games. If our flag causes such fear in the West, then I can imagine how they tremble at the sight of our athletes.
Politicians should compete with politicians, and athletes with athletes, it’s logical. But the main thing now is not to get discouraged, all this only makes us stronger. Russia is a sports power, and we have repeatedly proven this,” Kadyrov said in his Telegram channel.
