Kadyrov just fell short of 100 percent of the votes
Ramzan Kadyrov was re-elected as head of the Chechen Republic.
This, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, is evidenced by the preliminary results announced by the Chechen Election Commission.
After counting 100% of the votes, Kadyrov is in the lead with a result of 99,7%. His rivals, local parliament member Khalid Nakayev and Kadyrov’s deputy head of administration Isa Khadzhimuradov, received significantly less: 0,12% of the votes and 0,15% of the votes, respectively.
In turn, Komsomolskaya Pravda draws attention to the fact that in these elections, Kadyrov not only won, but was also able to set a new record, improving his own result by almost 2%.
“In the 2016 elections, the head of the Chechen people was in the lead with 97,94% of the votes with a turnout of almost 95% of voters,” the publication recalls.
