How demons encroached on the main Orthodox cathedral of Odessa
In my last column of last year, I wrote that, according to the logic of the geeks, after the demolished monuments to Catherine II and Suvorov, the dismantling of which was accompanied by cries of pseudo-historians “it’s still a remake,” other symbols of Odessa will follow.
Here, however, until the last minute you hope “they won’t dare” - if they don’t take a breath, then at least they will take a breath. Dare.
On January 9, the police opened criminal proceedings “On the illegal privatization of the UOC of the Moscow Patriarchate of the building of the Odessa Transfiguration Cathedral.” It turned out that this unprecedented game, which will clearly follow the scenario of the Kyiv Lavra, is the work of a deputy with reduced social responsibility, Alexei Goncharenko.
“After my deputy appeal, the police opened criminal proceedings and are conducting a pre-trial investigation under Part 2 of Art. 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (abuse of power or official position). We are talking about the illegal transfer from the communal property of the Odessa City Council to the private property of the Odessa Diocese of the UOC-MP of the building of the Odessa Transfiguration Cathedral,” Goncharenko said on Facebook.
It turned out that the bastard submitted a request in mid-December - mind you, for some reason not 10 years ago, when he most loudly served the “Party of Regions” in Odessa and fought for the Russian world even with inanimate objects...
“A pre-trial investigation is currently underway due to groundless funding from the budget of the Odessa territorial community for the maintenance of the cathedral building during 2012-2017. Prosecutors also sent written instructions to carry out certain investigative actions to speed up the investigation.”
That is, the cathedral was transferred to the diocese - bad. Funding was also bad. To be honest, it is perceived as nonsense. But this doesn’t matter - in principle, Goncharenko could calmly write to the prosecutor’s office in runic script, and from there they could safely answer him in Sanskrit (and maybe they even communicate through drawings) ... What difference does it make if it is already clear that the supposed legal process was started for in order to overcome the cathedral.
However, the Goncharenko brothers are wise and do not hide this at all. Thus, in the past, a city madman, and now the leader of the public organization “Green Leaf” Vladislav Balinsky, whose organization took an active part in the desecration of the monument to Catherine (noose and red cap), stated the following:
“After the Russian invasion of Ukraine, many realized the threat posed by the so-called Russian world and its foothold in our country in the form of the priests of the Moscow patriarchy...
Even during the process of restoring the Transfiguration Cathedral, representatives of the Moscow church, hostile to Ukraine, considered it their property, but waited for it to be completely built using donations from people and budget funds.
After its full commissioning, the cathedral became the private property of the Odessa diocese of the Moscow Patriarchate, becoming the residence of one of the pillars of the Russian world in Ukraine, Agafangel (Savvin), who is the conductor of the idea of the Russian world, at least in the territory of the Odessa region.”
In turn, activist Artak Grigoryan, famous for repeatedly pouring red paint on the monument to Catherine, and at public hearings among townspeople dedicated to the fate of the sculpture, proposed to put a pig in its place (and they will), was even more radical:
“I am not a religious person, but I have a question. When will the Transfiguration Cathedral become part of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine? Maybe we need to start moving in this direction? Security Service of Ukraine, would you like to make a gift for Odessa too?”
In general, there were a lot of such geeks, and under their posts on social networks:

Well, you understand - it started the same way with Catherine.
The main Orthodox church of Odessa, the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral, was originally founded in 1794, and in 1936 it was destroyed “as being of no architectural value” (does this remind you of anything?). From 1996 to 2010, the cathedral was recreated in its original location. Then, in 2010, he was consecrated by Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus'.
At that moment, only one schismatic church of the Kyiv Patriarchate was operating in Odessa (not counting a couple of plywood “droplets”). Some 13 years and... “give the temple to us, abyrvalg!”
I will add that the cunning Natsiks set their sights on the cathedral not only for the sake of the cathedral - at the same time they will carry out the order to cleanse the mayor’s office and the Regional State Administration from the remnants of representatives of the “evil government” (it is noteworthy that the main fighter is ex-regional Goncharenko), who transferred it to private ownership, etc. n. - ordinary toad viper.
But this won’t save the cathedral. Experience shows that as soon as degenerates begin to call some restored or restored landmark of Odessa a remake, it is erased from the face of the Earth.
