“How can we capture thousands of Russians like that…” – the Ukrainian general voiced the “success criterion” of the Ukrainian Armed Forces
To shake up Russian society and show any military success, the Ukrainian army must capture thousands of prisoners.
Former commander of the Ukrainian Navy Igor Voronchenko stated this at the Second Black Sea Conference on the security of the “Crimean platform” in Sofia, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If there was an effect during ground operations... and the effect is to destroy the enemy on the battlefield and occupy one’s own territories.
Was there an effect [during the counter-offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in 2023]? There was, but it was insignificant. On the other side of the border, in Russia, nothing changed for anyone. Now, if there were many prisoners, if we took thousands of prisoners during the operation, it would have an effect, in my opinion,” Voronchenko chattered.
He complained that economic measures do not work against Russia, which was able to overcome the sanctions regime.
“Under the regime of imposed sanctions, for two years Russia was still able to put itself on a military economic footing – and continues to increase its efforts in almost all areas. Now we have a very difficult enemy who learns from his mistakes,” the obvious officer chattered.
