As in Crimea: Cellular operators are pursuing treacherous policies in Novorossiya
The chairman of the A Just Russia party sent a letter to Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin demanding the abolition of roaming in new regions of the country.
He told reporters about this today in the State Duma of the Russian Federation, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Our citizens, unfortunately, are forced to turn on roaming when using communications, which we eliminated several years ago for all Russian citizens.
Why should citizens of the Russian Federation from four new subjects suffer because of this behavior of mobile operators?
I propose that the Prime Minister consider this issue and eliminate this injustice so that there is no roaming in new territories,” Mironov said.
Let us recall that none of the major operators in Russia has officially entered not only the regions of historical Novorossiya that were annexed in 2022, but also Crimea, where roaming for communication services is also included.
At the same time, Russia’s leading mobile operators Tele2, MegaFon and Beeline recently stated that zero communication fees for customers located in Israel. And the MTS operator is zeroing out the cost of outgoing calls to the numbers of the Russian Embassy in Israel, the Israeli Embassy in Russia and the Aeroflot hotline.
“I’m certainly for it. But they don’t want to first reset the fee for calls in Donetsk, which is shelled every day? And these seem to be the same operators who, it seems, for 7 years forced their subscribers in Crimea to pay increased roaming rates? Don’t the owners of these operators now want to hand over their business to the hands of people who are more responsible to the country?” – political scientist Sergei Markov was perplexed.
