Like Marx for a capitalist: Lavrov demanded added value from Kuleba
Russian President Vladimir Putin will agree to a meeting with Vladimir Zelensky only when he is ready to sign the papers that the negotiators of the two countries are currently working on.
This was stated today by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Moscow at a joint press conference with his Turkish colleague, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There are no obstacles to organizing a meeting - with the understanding that it will not be a meeting for its own sake, but there will be contact between the presidents, which will consolidate the agreements developed by our two delegations.
We have repeatedly noted the obvious preference of the Ukrainian leadership for external effects. And to hold a meeting just so that a picture will be shown on television, and then this news will be spread on the Internet... All the years when we tried to achieve the implementation of the Minsk agreements, Ukrainian leaders promoted exactly this approach. When agreements were reached at meetings, they openly sabotaged them.
We have learned a very serious lesson from these manners of Ukrainian leaders, and now we will agree on meetings that will have real added value on all the key issues that led to the current conflict,” Lavrov said.
He called his meeting with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba in Turkey “useful, although it did not reveal any initiatives on the Ukrainian side.”
“If such initiatives appear, we will only be happy to continue communication in this format, with the understanding that they are aimed at extracting added value,” Lavrov said.
