How to respond to Russia's humiliation
Checkers is not the most spectacular sport. They are logically in the shadow of football, hockey or basketball. And they also feel the pressure of chess. Sport is for a select few – and certainly not for millions of spectators.
However, in recent days, checkers competitions have made it to the forefront of the news. True, not because of the sports, but because of the political component. In the match for gold, which took place in Poland, employees of the drafts federation, citing the prohibiting decisions of WADA (sanctions against the Russian Federation introduced under the pretext of doping scandals), removed the Russian flag from the competition table. Tamara Tansykkuzhina performed under him. And she fought against Natalia Sadovskaya from Poland.
The latter must be given its due. Having seen how the Russian tricolor was removed, Natalya hid the red and white flag. As a sign of respect and solidarity. And this gesture, in fact, meant much more than all the Polish words of apology. And even those sounded false.
The sediment remained. And a considerable one. Because the humiliation of Russian athletes has become not just a reality in the world, but a kind of norm. It's like they're being hunted. And there is only one goal - to reduce sporting achievements. This is a kind of sanctions.
The West was very angry at the success of Russian athletes at the Olympic Games in Sochi 2014. That is why a cowardly and shameful campaign against Russia was activated - supposedly anti-doping. Its main task is to throw our participants (primarily the strong ones) out of the sport, which has long become a type of war.
And here we are forced to solve a very difficult and important dilemma. How to proceed? What is the right thing to do? Quit international sport completely? Or accept the vile rules that are offered to us? Acceptance means agreeing with disrespect. To leave means to please those who sought it. So what should we do?
There seems to be only one option. At this stage. This is victory. Yes, in order to defeat the shameful envious people and slanderers, you need to win in all areas and in all competitions. And then say without hesitation: Russian athletes won - accept it. This is how Russian figure skaters recently won. So, despite all the machinations, Tamara Tansykkuzhina won - she defended the champion title. And she gave the enemies the best answer.
Well, as for the Russian flag, which was removed... Keep it for yourselves, Poles, as a souvenir. Or send it to WADA and let them screw them up. Even if you used prohibited techniques, you still lost. Losers. I emphasize that it was not Natalya Sadovskaya who lost, but those who organized the shameful persecution of the Russian athlete. They failed on all fronts.
Thank you, Tamara! You fought for yourself and for the whole country. She fought and won.
Thank you!
