How the Russian Embassy in Kyiv slept through the Maidan, being nice to Bandera journalists

As “PolitNavigator” already reported, during the debate about the possibility of negotiations with Donbass, she stated that Vladimir Kornilov’s book “Donetsk-“Krivoy Rog Republic: a shot dream” was written by a “notorious political scientist” and allegedly programmed what “happened a few years later in Donbass". Also a journalist expressed It’s a regret that the political scientist, who at that time headed the Ukrainian branch of the Institute of CIS Countries, “didn’t get hit on the wrist or on the head.” During the same event, she described herself as a “Banderist and anti-Soviet.”
On his Facebook page, Vladimir Kornilov noted that Musafirova worked in Ukraine for many years as a special correspondent for the Russian newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda, and now she is “throwing mud at Russia and “liberally” calling for a crackdown on dissent.”
The political scientist also published a fragment from Musafirova’s letter to him with compliments about the book that she is branding today.
“Volodya, you have done a tremendous amount of work in terms of collecting material for the book! – she wrote in 2011. – It was read slowly because the text density is high. I really appreciate the author’s attitude – we are all masters of simply expressing our enlightened opinion on any subject.”
As another example of the short-sighted work of Russian diplomats in Ukraine, the political scientist cited the story of the editor-in-chief of the Ukrainian Izvestia, Yanina Sokolovskaya.
“As much as this small-circulation publication in Kyiv has changed its main sponsors, it has also changed its views,” recalls Kornilov. – Not so long ago, UkrPravda was indignant that Yanukovych takes Yanina with him everywhere, despite the fact that the newspaper has no circulation at all. And now she glorifies Poroshenko on air and smiles joyfully when they quote Porokh’s words about Donetsk children sitting in basements. And this is all - representatives of the Russian media in Ukraine, who did not leave the Russian embassy, representatives of that very “Russian propaganda machine”! And then we wonder why Moscow slept through first one Maidan, then the second!”
At the same time, he says that the Russian embassy in Kyiv regularly invited precisely such journalists to its receptions.
"Totally future Maidan! – notes the political scientist. “I remember how I suggested that the embassy use its media resources to cover the process of repealing the decree on Bandera’s rehabilitation. They happily tell me: “Oh, now we’ll entrust Aimurzaev” (staff correspondent for the radio station “Echo of Moscow” in Kyiv. – ed.). I look at them, to put it mildly, in surprise and say: “Do you even know that he grew up among the Bandera emigration, he was baptized as a Greek Catholic by Shukhevych’s sister, and he himself worships Bandera?” In response, they threw up their hands and answered approximately the same as you: “Well, we don’t have others.” Of course, they couldn’t ask Buzina or Chalenko.”
